We are a manufacturer of PVC strip curtains, also known as PVC strip doors or PVC curtains. We make them to measure for each opening, together with a complete set of stainless steel mounting rails. The strips part when pushed by a forklift or a person and return to position by themselves. State the dimensions of the opening, the temperature on both sides and the traffic intensity, and we will put together the complete set.
A strip curtain is a partition made of vertical strips of flexible PVC hung from a rail above the opening. The strips overlap and form a continuous thermal barrier, yet they do not block traffic.
The curtain works even when the door stands open. It needs no power supply, controls or automation servicing, so it can close off an opening that forklifts pass through non-stop.
The material is transparent PVC sheeting, so full visibility to the other side of the partition is maintained. The forklift operator can see what is happening behind the curtain before driving through it.
Strip curtains made of PVC sheeting are selected to suit the operating conditions. We offer PVC strip curtains in five variants:

Standard PVC hardens at sub-zero temperatures and cracks where it bends. Cold store strips have a modified composition and stay soft down to -45°C, so the strip returns to position after every pass.

A smooth strip is cheaper and lighter, and is sufficient for moderate traffic and temperatures above zero. A ribbed strip has longitudinal ribs that stiffen it and reduce sticking between adjacent strips, which gives greater durability with heavy forklift traffic and in cold stores.
Strip colours: transparent as standard, red, green and black. We also supply strips separately for curtains that are already installed.

Maintenance consists of periodic washing with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Solvents and abrasive cleaners should not be used, as they dull the PVC irreversibly.

Two parameters decide whether a strip curtain will work: the width of the strips and the overlap, meaning how far neighbouring strips extend over one another.
Strip width is matched to the height of the opening. The taller the opening, the wider the strip, so that it does not twist or wrap around the strip next to it. 200 mm strips work well in pedestrian doorways and low drive-through openings, 300 mm suits a typical warehouse door, and 400 mm is for tall entrance doors and openings used by larger vehicles.
The overlap is a compromise between sealing and resistance to passage. A small overlap means easier passage and less material, but weaker insulation. A large overlap is standard in cold stores and freezer rooms, where every degree counts and traffic is less frequent.

No. The curtain is a thermal and dust barrier, not a safeguard against break-ins or a fire barrier. It usually works together with a door: the door closes the building after hours, and the curtain does its job during the day while the door stands open.
It depends on the traffic intensity and operating conditions. With typical warehouse traffic, the strips last several years. With very heavy forklift traffic, the strips in the middle are replaced more often than those at the sides, and replacing a single strip is inexpensive and takes only a moment.
Yes, this is one of the main applications. The curtain separates areas with different temperatures and acts as a barrier to insects. For specific food-contact requirements, we select a material with the appropriate certification, so please state them in your enquiry.
A ribbed strip has longitudinal ribs, is stiffer, flaps less, and adjacent strips stick together less often. With heavy traffic and in cold stores, it proves more durable. A smooth strip is cheaper and is sufficient for less demanding applications.
